Wednesday Night
Electric Vehicle Design Studio
5:30pm-8:00pm Food Provided (8th-12th grade)
Students work in small teams with mentors from the community. Projects range from full automotive restoration and electric vehicle retrofitting, to the design, build and racing of Electrathon race-cars. MINDDRIVE competes in the Kansas ElectroRally.
The Wednesday evening EV Design Studio starts promptly at 5:30pm with a community meal for mentors, staff, and students. We consider this a very important highlight of the mentoring experience on Wednesday nights.
HIGHLIGHTS
Become A Mentor.
Mentoring young people is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have. At MINDDRIVE, there are no pre-requisites, specific skills, or prior training needed to be a great mentor for a young person. Our projects provide a unique opportunity to work alongside students to solve problems, demonstrate resolve, fail, and experience success. The most valuable behavior we can demonstrate for our students is how to cope with failure. How to pick up the pieces and keep going, take a different path or approach, and find the solution.
Prospective mentors must submit an application and will be required to pass a background check. Once the application has been received, MINDDRIVE staff will follow up with the individual with background check & tour information.
