Description

Welding Art Studio - Monday Night

5-6:30pm Session 1 (Beginner Welding Students)
7-8:30pm Session 2 (Experienced Welding Students)

Prospective mentors are asked to be able to commit to the full time, including both sessions, which take place weekly on Mondays.

Students learn the basics of metal fabrication and begin welding in our fully-equipped welding studio. Students are introduced to and taught the various types of welding including Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), and Metal Arc welding. Mentors participate along with students to design and create pieces for our annual Art Garage design showcase. Our instructor has years of experience as a professional Iron Worker and is passionate about working with young adults.

Become  A  Mentor.

Mentoring young people is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have.  At MINDDRIVE, there are no pre-requisites, specific skills, or prior training needed to be a great mentor for a young person.  Our projects provide a unique opportunity to work alongside students to solve problems, demonstrate resolve, fail, and experience success.  The most valuable behavior we can demonstrate for our students is how to cope with failure.  How to pick up the pieces and keep going, take a different path or approach, and find the solution.

Prospective mentors must submit an application and will be required to pass a background check. Once the application has been received, MINDDRIVE staff will follow up with the individual with background check & tour information.
