Pete's Garden is recovering more high quality surplus food than ever before. We need volunteers to help us portion it into take-and-heat containers for families in need. The meals we pack go home with parents who pick up children from the HeadStart program, or to other nearby agency partners like Jewish Family Services, Boys and Girls Club, and more.
Volunteers help in our commercial kitchen at 13th and Broadway with varying midday shifts. We recover high quality food from the New Theatre Restaurant, all of the professional sports teams, KC Chiefs Players' home game dinners, and many corporate dining programs.
