Who We Are

HALO provides housing, healing, and education services to kids, teens, & young adults who are experiencing homelessness or are at-risk. The HALO Learning Center has been a safe-haven of healing and hope for 700+ youth in the greater Kansas City area. With the expansion in 2025 of a new Learning Center, Boys Home, and Girls Home, HALO will reach more children who need the foundation of a family. At the Kansas City Girls and Boys Homes, our doors and hearts are open to pregnant, parenting, and non-parenting youth ages 16-21, and their children, who are in homeless or high-risk situations.

What We Do

Programs are facilitated on-site and remotely through partnerships in the community with organizations like reStart Inc. and Cornerstones of Care and with individual services with youth in the greater Kansas City area. HALO provides services and resources year-round, along with meals or snacks and is open Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. The HALO Learning Center in Kansas City serves 500+ youth annually with 250+ life skill and education programs and 150+ individual services, providing employment, education, resource connections and meal support. Between two HALO homes that are residential state licensed facilities, 40+ youth and their children are supported annually through independent living skills, education and employment programs. Youth are also supported with continued services and support through the HALO Aftercare Program.
