Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas
atholic Charities of Northeast Kansas serves the most vulnerable men, women and children of all faiths across 21 counties. A ministry of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, we provide innovative programs and solutions that stabilize and strengthen individuals and families, moving them from a place of needing help to one of having hope. We offer more than 30 programs across 21 counties of Northeast Kansas. Our work is founded on three pillars: Family Stabilization, Family Strengthening and Respect Life Services.
Here’s a brief overview of what we do, and the expectation of our mentors: • Our mentees range from 15-24 years old. Some are in high school and others are wanting to take that first step towards going to college or pursuing a new career. • All mentors must complete the required training and background check • We ask for a commitment of one year. • Mentors check in with their mentees virtually, once a week. • Mentors and mentees meet up in-person at least once a month (at the library, a café, a park, community event, their home, etc.) • Our program organizes events every other month for all participants (examples: soccer game, volunteering, college tour, etc.) and you can attend when available. • Together, you and your mentee will make a plan based on their goals in school, or for a future career. • www.catholiccharitiesks.org/reconnect
