JVS was established in 1949 to assist Holocaust survivors, refugees and veterans returning from WWII, enabling them to begin new lives in our community. Today, we welcome all persons from across the globe fleeing war and persecution in search of a better life. We engage, encourage and empower refugees and immigrants through a variety of programming and services designed to move our newest neighbors from “surviving” to thriving.
