American Stroke Foundation

The American Stroke Foundation is a local non-profit organization that aims to reach out to stroke survivors and their families in Kansas City and across America to empower them to reclaim hope for life after stroke.

The American Stroke Foundation's Next Step Program is aimed at maintaining and improving health, wellness, and participation for individuals who are stroke survivors and wish to take their next steps in life. Health professionals, including Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and Music Therapists, develop targeted activities within four primary areas: Communication, Health Behaviors, Life After Stroke, and Physical Fitness to address participants goals. We serve Mission, KS, Lee's Summit, MO, and the Northland, MO, by providing weekly community programming at community centers where we work together towards the goals of stroke survivors and support them in their recovery.
