Volunteer: Senior Technology VolunteersOverview: Phoenix Family is seeking patient, friendly, and tech-savvy volunteers to assist seniors in learning how to use technology in our new computer lab at a local senior affordable housing community. This role is essential in helping older adults feel more confident in navigating various digital tools, from basic computer functions to using the internet, email, navigating assistive technology, and social media. Volunteers will provide hands-on guidance and one-on-one support during technology workshops and open lab hours. We will provide all the training you need. Sign up to help for a couple of hours each week or to offer classes occasionally as your availability allows! Qualifications: · Strong understanding of basic computer operations, internet navigation, email, and social media platforms. · Patience and ability to explain technical concepts in simple, non-technical terms. · Enjoy working with seniors and demonstrating empathy and respect. · Excellent communication skills. · Previous volunteer or teaching experience is a plus but not required. · A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn new skills. · Ability to maintain resident confidentiality. · Background checks are required for regular recurring volunteers.
