Volunteer: S.A.Y. Yes! (TK-4th grade after school programs) College InternPrograms are Monday -Thursday, but you only are expected to serve one day a week. Mondays are our biggest need. Programs coincide with school year. The Hope Center is a faith-based youth and community development organization serving in KC's urban east side. S.A.Y. Yes! is our children'ts program. As a volunteer you will assist with the after school children's program. This involves helping kids with crafts, activities, dance, singing, reading, and learning good behaviors and cultural history. It can also include setup, takedown and cleaning up after kids as needed. We are also flexible with time frame, ex. if you cannot make it here till 4pm, that's ok. Volunteer: Communications InternThe Communications intern will be responsible for capturing program and community stories and turning them into text which can then be utilized in marketing materials, grants, appeals, etc. Interviewing staff, clients, and community about The Hope Center’s programs and impact. Scheduling will be through Sr. Program Director. Capturing moving stories from staff, clients, and community about The Hope Center’s programs and impact. Writing those stories in multiple word count variations depending on how we will utilize them. Attend at least 1 program or event each week. Willingly take on any additional tasks as assigned by Director of Development or Communications. This will also include doing grant research and any other assignments directed by Director of Development. The Development Intern be responsible for the following (some can be done remotely): Accurate data capture related to donors and donations. Manage back-office systems related to fundraising As requested by Director of Development, research potential grants using various grant lists, websites,etc. When requested, research information about various donors to help Director of Development or ED to connect. Willingly take on any additional tasks as assigned by Director of Development. Solicit auction item donations for fundraising events. Assist as possible during fundraising events.
