Read with a student once a week. You donate half an hour once a week - no evenings or weekends! Apply online, complete a short online training session, and get paired with a student. Not sure you can make a weekly commitment? Sign up with a partner to share the volunteer experience, or become a Flextra "Flexible Reading Mentor" and attend a couple sessions each month.
Lead to Read KC is dedicated to improving the basic literacy skills of children in high-need schools. Launched in 2011, we connect almost 1,600 elementary students with adult reading mentors in more than 90 classrooms across the metropolitan area each week. Learn more at leadtoreadkc.org.
