Each year since 2015, Heartland Conservation Alliance gathers the Kansas City community for the MLK, Jr. Nature Walk focused on environmental justice with a keynote speaker at the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Center.

This event encourages listening, reflection, and honoring the powerful words of Dr. King. Nature serves as a place of peacefulness, awe, and inspiration, making it the perfect setting to resonate with Dr. King’s timeless messages.

Join members of the Rockhurst Community for this event:

  • 9:30am: gather at Arrupe Circle to depart via van 
  • 9:45am: Check-in, registration, and refreshments at the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Center 
  • 10:00 – 11:00 am: Plenary opening and keynote address at the Cultural Center
  • 11:00 – 12:00 pm: Nature walk from the Cultural Center along Brush Creek
  • 12:15pm: return to campus
