The Non-Profit Administration Intern will gain non-profit experience by supporting The Sewing Labs administration with office communications, in-kind donations, data entry, organization of materials, filing, maintaining office hours, organizing,  outreach, volunteer, and intern recruitment, recording meeting minutes, and a variety of ever-emerging tasks. The intern will work directly with the Operations Manager, Executive Director and Volunteer Coordinator in support of The Sewing Labs staff and programs.

The Sewing Labs Program areas the internship will support (but not limited to): Day to Day activities at TSL, Make’n HERstory Annual Fundraiser, Gratitude and Grace Quilt Retreat, Fabric Grab fundraiser, Quilt Raffle fundraiser, Volunteer & Internship Development ,  Fundraising & Development Initiatives.

The Sewing Labs seeks to engage a Social Media Intern to assist with content creation, content distribution, and monitoring of social media channels.  Exceptional writing and social media skills is a must. The Social Media Intern is expected to have meticulous attention to detail, work well under pressure and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

The Social Media Intern must have the ability to:

Work quickly and independently. Be comfortable with basic web site editing, digital communications, and all social media platforms. Be a creative and strategic thinker who enjoys and is comfortable working collaboratively with thought leaders and team member across digital platforms Be able to distribute The Sewing Labs content with a focus on expanding the audience.

The Social Media Intern is expected to have excellent interpersonal and communications skills. This individual should be able to multi-task, be innovative, organized, and self-motivated.

The Sewing Labs is seeking a Classroom Technology Intern  who can assist our teachers in the classroom with virtual on-line classes and video production technology needs.

DUTIES

Assist with sound, switching, lighting, and set-up. Produce video content in support of the classroom and on-line classes. Edit digital video from raw files to finished work. Capture b-roll for events. Distribute video throughout various web & social media channels. Organize and archive video assets.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Learn how to create content for a non-profit organization. Learn how video marketing impacts fundraising. Learn applications of video in various social media for non-profit growth. Learn how to coordinate all areas of video editing.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Sewing Labs is seeking an individual to assist with on-line video classes in our classroom.  We are seeking someone with strong visual and editing skills to shoot and edit together new content for our organization.

12-20 hours per week.

COMPENSATION: This is a volunteer or unpaid internship opportunity. Role may qualify for college credit if internship.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Looking for a candidate either undergraduate or graduate with a background in film, photography, communications. Candidates must prove DSLR experience with videography experience (whether personal or professional).

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of audio/video recording and postproduction.

Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, or background in other video editing software.
