The HALO KC Program Coordinator Intern will primarily focus on developing, coordinating, and facilitating HALO Art & Life Skill workshops that will be geared towards at-risk youth ages 5 and older. This position will be for 20+ hours a week (including some evenings and the occasional weekend) comprising of, 3-4 workshops per week, and office hours at HALO Headquarters. This intern will report to KC Program Facilitator and HALO Program Director. The time frame for this Internship is flexible, with 6 months- 1 year preferred. A majority of this position will comprise of: Collaborating with volunteers & Program Facilitator to plan, prepare and facilitate 3-4 workshops per week. Spending 2-3 days a week in the office working on developing programming based on needs of youth and/or partnering shelters as they are identified. Assisting Program Facilitator with administering program surveys to youth to assess program effectiveness on a quarterly basis. Meet individually with youth to help provide resources, programs and services for their immediate needs surrounding the areas of housing, healing or education. Assist Program Facilitator and Program Director on local outreach needs to expand the reach for HALO in Kansas City and surrounding communities. Other focuses during internship will include: Track weekly statistics and outcomes by compiling information reported through Workshop Facilitation Reports & entry into Apricot Managing HALO Connect Wall as new services and resources are discovered, while encouraging youth to utilize the resources available in the community.
