Volunteer Opportunities From: Engage Rockhurst

Catholic Charities of Kansas is looking for volunteers mentors to join our Refugee Youth Mentoring Program to help our newcomer youths achieve their educational, social, and career goals.

Here’s a brief overview of what we do, and the expectation of our mentors:

Our mentees range from 15-24 years old. Some are in high school and others are wanting to take that first step towards going to college or pursuing a new career. All mentors must complete the required training and background check We ask for a commitment of one year. Mentors check in with their mentees virtually, once a week. Mentors and mentees meet up in-person at least once a month (at the library, a café, a park, community event, their home, etc.) Our program organizes events every other month for all participants (examples: soccer game, volunteering, college tour, etc.) and you can attend when available.
